Project Partners
The JOULE project stemmed by a consortium that includes 5 Higher Education Institutions from Belgium, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain, and 2 Italian SMEs with a specific background in data and Erasmus+ projects. The project coordinator is the University of Tuscia (Università degli Studi della Tuscia).

The University of Tuscia (UNITUS) is a multidisciplinary Italian public University that claims a prominent position among the best research and teaching centers in Italy and Europe.
The University has about 700 employees, equally divided between technical administrative staff and researchers and professors. UNITUS has bilateral agreements with partners in Europe, the USA, Asia and South Africa for the exchange of academic staff, PhD students and post-doc researchers, further enriching its professionalism and collaborations.
It has participated in the past and is still participating in the Erasmus and Erasmus Plus mobility programs. It is partner and leader in many research projects funded by the European Union in various scientific sectors, especially in the areas of green technologies, climate changes, new materials, and in innovation and economics.
Universidade Nova de Lisboa
Being established in 1973, Universidade Nova de Lisboa is the only Portuguese university in the QS Top 50 under 50 ranking. UNL adopted a new model that stresses interdisciplinary approaches, technological developments while, at the same time, safeguarding offerings in traditional academic domains including medicine, sciences and humanities.
UNL identifies itself as a university with internationally recognized research and teaching quality, targeted progressively to the second and third cycles, capable of delivering high levels of professional success of its students and provides important services to community.
UNL has 20,000 enrolled students (2527 international students from 106 nationalities), 1,716 professors/ researchers (FTE). NOVA IMS trains managers to lead and guide the compilation, analysis, exploration and use of information in order to improve the decision-making process in organizations.

Dataninja is a skill-based hub bringing together professionals and creatives with a common goal: to build connections between data and people.
Dataninja, stemmed from a digital community active since 2012, implements projects promoting dissemination of data culture.
Today Dataninja is an award-winning company providing innovative data- driven services. The core business is to help public institutions, NGOs and SME to make a better sense of data.
The team members have developed training programmes for spreading data and skills among universities, newsrooms and communities with a whole activity of 500+ blended workshops both offline and online, for 2000 hours of training and 10.000 students, becoming the most active player of teaching Data Literacy in Italy.

Aristotelio Panepistimio Thessalonikis
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is today the largest university in the country, with about 42.000 “active” students. The teaching – research
staff consists of 2.300 people, the special educational staff of 195, and the remaining teaching staff of 296. Furthermore, 748 members of the special administrative – technical staff and 737 administrative personnel are in the service of the university.
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki: Has proceeded recently in many bilateral agreements with universities and research institutions in Europe, the Russian Federation and the other Caucasian countries, the United States, Canada and Australia. Participates in all European student exchange programs (e.g. Erasmus, Comett, Lingua, Tempus, Med-Campus, Socrates).
Is a member of the following international organizations: International Association of Universities, European University Association, Coimbra Group, Community of European Universities, AIMOS Network, Confederation of EU Rectors’ Conferences.
Universidad de Alcalá
University of Alcalá (UAH) was founded in 1499 and it is one of the oldest universities in Spain. It is located in Alcalá de Henares, a UNESCO world heritage site only thirty kilometres from the centre of Madrid.
Today the University of Alcalá is a modern institution which offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes adapted to the European Higher Education Area and covering all fields of knowledge, from the humanities to engineering, and from the social sciences to experimental and biomedical sciences. UAH provided service to around 28,000 students in 2018: from them, 8400 were enrolled in life-long learning courses and cVET while 12400 are enrolled in official degree studies and 4000 in official postgraduate programs.
Each year a large number of cVET courses and long-life learning training programs are organized involving thousands of attendants as well as tens of collaborating entities, trade unions and companies, addressing all disciplines.
A specific department of academic Quality Assurance monitors all the activities and follows the internal rules of QA as well as the mandatory procedures of National Authorities.
UC Limburg
UCLimburg vzw is a HEI in Flanders, collaborating under the name UC Leuven-Limburg (UCLL) with UC Leuven vzw. UC Leuven-Limburg is renowned for the high quality of its teaching, research & regional development.
More than 30 professional bachelor (EQF 6), and 30 lifelong learning study programmes are offered in various study areas: Education, Health Care, Applied Social Studies, Applied Engineering & Technology, and Business Management. Yearly about 14.000 students are enrolled in UC Leuven-Limburg.
Moreover, about 15.000 professionals follow a training, seminar or workshop at UC Leuven-Limburg. UCLL’s strong commitment to research ensures state-of-the-art study programmes and trainings for these students and professionals. Research at UC Leuven-Limburg is unquestionably practice-oriented.
Together with other regional and international knowledge institutions, companies and organizations, the government and funding agencies, UCLL generates new, applied knowledge through a wide range of (international) research projects and offers this knowledge via training and advice.
